The short version. Use it for your own sales research, follow Reddit's rules when you contact anyone, don't treat the scores as facts, and don't expect guarantees from a service you're not paying much for.
1. The agreement
These terms are between you (or the company you represent) and the operator of Reddit Scanner, reachable at hello@redditscanner.xyz. Creating an account means you accept them. If you're accepting for a company, you're confirming you're allowed to.
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract.
2. What the service does
Reddit Scanner reads publicly visible posts from subreddits you nominate, scores them for buying intent against a product description you write or against competitor names you supply, and shows you the ones that clear your threshold. Scans run on a schedule, currently twice daily.
It is a research tool. It finds conversations. It does not contact anyone, post anything, or act on your behalf.
3. Your account
Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. One account per company unless we agree otherwise, and don't share logins across organisations.
Everything you enter — product description, subreddits, keywords, competitor names — must be yours to use and must not be unlawful or infringing.
4. How you may use it
Use it to find and research conversations relevant to your business. You may not:
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the output as a data product.
- Use it to harass, stalk, dox, profile, or target any individual.
- Build a marketing list of people who never asked to hear from you and mail them in bulk.
- Scan subreddits dedicated to health, recovery, crisis, or other sensitive personal circumstances in order to sell to the people posting there.
- Attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent limits on the service.
- Use it where doing so breaks a law that applies to you.
We may suspend an account that does any of the above, without notice where the harm is ongoing.
5. Contacting people you find
This is the clause most likely to matter to you.
The service surfaces public posts. What you do next is entirely yours: you are the sender, and you carry the legal responsibility for any message you send, under Reddit's rules and under whatever marketing, spam, and data protection law applies where you and the recipient are.
We strongly suggest replying in the thread where the question was asked rather than sending unsolicited direct messages. It is what the subreddits tolerate, and it is what actually works.
6. Reddit's own rules
We are independent of Reddit, Inc. Your use of Reddit remains governed by Reddit's User Agreement and Content Policy, and individual subreddits set their own rules about self-promotion. Following these terms does not excuse you from those, and a subreddit banning you for how you used what you found here is between you and that subreddit.
Reddit may change its API terms or access rules at any time. If that stops us collecting posts, the service may change or stop, and that is outside our control.
7. On the scores
Scores and reasoning are produced by a language model. They are estimates, not findings of fact. Models misread sarcasm, invent confidence, and occasionally flag a competitor nobody mentioned.
Read the post before you act on the score. We make no promise about accuracy, and we're not liable for a decision you took because a number looked high.
8. Availability
We aim to keep it running but promise no specific uptime. Scans depend on third parties — the Reddit data source, the AI provider, our hosts — and any of them can fail, rate-limit us, or change terms. Scheduled scans may be missed. Features may change or be withdrawn.
Where the service is provided free or during a trial, it's provided as-is with no service commitment at all.
9. Ownership
We own the service — the software, the interface, the name. You own what you put in: your product description, your scanner settings, your workspace.
Reddit posts belong to the people who wrote them and to Reddit under its own terms. Nothing here transfers any rights in that content to you; we're showing you where a public conversation is happening.
You grant us permission to process what you enter solely to operate the service for you.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost or inaccurate data, missed opportunities, or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months, or ₹5,000.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you're a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
You agree to cover us against claims arising from how you used the service, including any outreach you sent.
11. Ending it
Close your account whenever you like, by email. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and may discontinue the service with reasonable notice to active accounts.
On closure your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Export anything you want to keep first — a connected Google Sheet stays yours and is unaffected.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Kolkata, West Bengal have exclusive jurisdiction. If you're a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of your own country's law.
If a clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stands.
